Dreams of trouble in Bridgeford prompt Rowanne to return home and check on her father and mother. She leaves with Arn against Valiant's protests that she is just homesick - the two of them are captured by Duncan's men just outside the town's borders. The young warriors are sentenced to the same fate as the other townsfolk who have lately spoken of Camelot against the baron's wishes.
