Melanie Janine Brown MBE (born 29 May 1975), commonly known as Melanie B or Mel B, is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. She rose to fame in the 1990s as a member of the girl group Spice Girls, in which she was nicknamed Scary Spice. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, the group became the best-selling female group of all time. Since 2007, she has established herself as a television personality and talent show judge. She participated in theĀ fifth seasonĀ of the American dance competition seriesĀ Dancing with the StarsĀ (2007). Between 2011 and 2016, she served as a guest and main judge on theĀ AustralianĀ andĀ BritishĀ versions ofĀ The X Factor. She also co-presented theĀ Australian versionĀ ofĀ Dancing with the StarsĀ forĀ one seasonĀ (2012). She judged on theĀ NBCĀ reality showĀ America's Got TalentĀ (2013ā2018), served as a coach and mentor onĀ The Voice Kids AustraliaĀ (2014) and judged onĀ The Masked Singer AustraliaĀ (2022). From 2016 to 2018, she co-presentedĀ Lip Sync Battle UKĀ alongside rapperĀ Professor Green.
